Thoughtful Design: Creating Insignia Series
Creating our Insignia Series product line presented a unique challenge. Because our Signature Series selectorized line was over 10 years old, it made sense to replace it with an innovative new product. But at the same time, sales of Signature Series were at an all-time high and growing each year.
One of the driving themes behind the project became Thoughtful Design, the idea that every design element needed to have a reason. Every change had to be justified by how it would improve the product for the purchaser, trainer or end user.
This put a lot of pressure on the development team since not only was it our largest selling strength product line, but we needed to introduce all 21 units into production at the same time.
