Title: GALTER LIFECENTER ISN'T A STANDARD FITNESS FACILITY
It provides a workout spot for the diverse population on Chicago’s north side. It’s also the first medical fitness center in Illinois, serves as a rehabilitation facility for the adjacent Swedish Covenant Hospital, and has a vibrant active aging community.
Galter LifeCenter requires fitness options for every type of user, and the versatile SYNRGY360 unit is a perfect fit. It sits in the center of the facility, surrounded by busy cardio equipment.
“We wanted to have another functional type training area,” said Francie Habash, program director at Galter. “We wanted people to make exercise fun, and play, and tried to make it as functional as possible. The size of SYNRGY and what it could do made it the best choice.”

Title: WHO USES SYNRGY360?
The SYNRGY360 system is always busy. Several weekly, revenue-generating group training classes are designed for all fitness levels. High-intensity interval training challenges advanced exercisers, lower intensity circuit workouts offer an introduction to group training, and weight management classes are ideal for a range of exercisers. There’s even dryland training intended for swimmers and triathletes.
The unit has also managed to become a part of the daily workout routines of members. A steady stream of individual exercisers utilize the rebounder, TRX straps and other areas on the SYNRGY360 system.
“A wide range of abilities are on it and (all ages),” explained Habash. “The trainers use it a lot. You can make it metabolic, do strength work on it, work on flexibility and balance and activities for daily living. All of that can be done on it, so it’s awesome in that aspect.”
Title: ENHANCING A DYNAMIC FACILITY
The SYNRGY360 unit has become an integral part of Galter LifeCenter. It’s a workout option that serves as a facility centerpiece and helps generate interest in Galter’s Infinity Pass, a membership enhancement that provides unlimited access to classes. Added Habash: “It looks cool. It looks fun. People (see it and say) ‘ooh, what’s this’? It makes exercising fun because it’s always something different.”
